VENOMOUS SEA SNAKES.

NEW TERROR POR BATHERS. SYDNEY, May 24. An interesting capture of a denizen of the sea, which establishes the fact that venomous sea snakes may be found m Australian latitudes, was made on the beach at Manly, near Sydney, a couple of days ago. This snake has been identified as belonging to a kind which is not uncommon m the waters around the Malayan Peninsula, where it is said to be more feared by the natives • than arc sharks. Thus we have another peril added to those which make some people afraid to share m the alluring sport of surfing. We have more than enough snakes on land. To know that you can- 1 not get away from them m the sea is j decidedly disconcerting.
