pAMAGING DISCLOSURES

To-day's hearing of the libel action against Cecil Chesterton was occupied by the evidence of Godrey Isaacs m regard to his connection with the public companies which Chesterton described.-
In cross-examination Isaacs admitted | that his connection was discreditable. He did not hold shares m the Transvaal Limited Co., and retired from the board shortly after the issue of the prospectus. 'He was on the board of another South j African company, that of Gelick, Limited. He admitted his connection with' a, number of automobile, and Welsh mining companies which were unsuccessful, but he denied that he made money promoting them or manipulating the market. He was sharply cross-examined ,regarding his earlier experiences m the city, and admitted that he had been associated with a number of companies which had been failures,' including the Australian Motor Car Co. He denied that he could be described as a discredited syndicate adventurer.
