The first matches in f>lie League competition take place on Saturday next, as follows:— Y.M.A.C. v. Gisborne, at the Reserve, 3 p.m.; Taruheru v. County, 'at Makaraka, 3 p.m. -J i The County team to meet Taruheru is as follows:'— Goal, Batesi backs', Jim' Sota- , erton, Hunwick (capt.); halves, Hodgson, W. Hannah, H. McMillan; forwards, R. Bell, Drake, E. Stone, Jas. Wallace, G. French;* • reserves, w. < Taylor, and McEwan. The following is the Y.M.A.C. team to meet Gisborne to-morrow on the Domain: Wilson, Powell, Turnbull, Hosier, G. Webster, J. Hughes, J. H. Miller, Greene, Menzles, Holland, Mitchell; reserves, Renwick, Frazer, and Gardiner.
The following team will represent the Gisborne Association Club:— Goal, Renwick; ba;cks, Archbold (capt.), Gardiner: half-backs, T. Hannah, another, V. West; forwards, Anderson. Burd, Fryer, Shields and Shields.
