Auckland : The City Council election resulted m the return of 13 members of the old 1 Council and five new members, including Miss H. Melville. Mayors have been elected as follows : -Grey Lynn, ,Mr George Baildon; Ottelmnga, Mr John Rowe. lii the Harbor Board election Mr Alison' Wa& the only sitting member defeated. Wairoa : Mayoral, Mr J. Corkill was Te-eleeted, obtaining 308 votes, while Dr. Somerville .obtained 235. Dannevirke : The .'Wednesday halfday was retained by 97 votes. Pahiatua : Mayoral contest, Mr David Crewe (sitting Mayor) was elected, obtaining 280 votes; J.. D. Wilson, exMayor, 270. T?oxto.n : There weve 13 candidates tor the Council,' the following being elected: J. Chrystall, Thomas Henderson, Qeovge Coley, G. Whibley, L. Freeman, Geo. Barber, Alex. Speirs, D.* Green, S. Read x Foxton Harbor Board : There were three nominations fbr- two seats, and Messrs P.. J. Hennessy (the present chairman) and F. E. Jenks were elected. Feilding: For the poll on the halfholiday, Wednesday was carried. Martoh :' Mills' majority was 123. Thfere' were four Labor nominees for the : Council. They were badly defeated. ' .
