GAMBLING ON FOOTBALL.
AN INGENIOUS SCHEME. (Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyright ) MELBOURNE, April 30. Systematic betting on football is being introduced into Victoria, and circulars have been issued giving directions to persons wishing to bet. The odds range from three to one to those selecting two winning beams playing off their own grounds to 100 to one to those selecting winners of two home and five away matches, and one drawn match m one afternoon. The promoter is not disclosed, but it is understood that the scheme wns launched m Sydney. Certain Melbournites have been asked to become agents.
