During the Navy debate Mir White declared that the Cabinet was as strongly opposed to a periodic contributioh to the Imperial Navy as the Liberals. Amid all the talk of autonomy during 1909 New Zealand gave a Dreadnought. This action was approved throughout the worfd, and Avas on 3of the golden deeds m the Empire's history.. Sir Wilfrid Laurier'a - policy was merely one of political expediency which was never intended to fructify. If Canada should decide m favor, cf a local navy as a permanent policy, then the Conservatives would agree, but the first gift of three Dreadnoughts must be made to tho Motherland. Mr Borden is preparing to introduce the closure m connection With the Bill.
