A sensational sticking-up case is re-, ported from Braidwood.A ma-n entered a Chinaman's store and asked to bo shown a Winchester rifle and cartridges. He inserted a cartridge and threatened to shoot the proprietor and two assistants unless given £20. He Avas handed the contents of the till, £13, and departed with a threat to kill anyone who told the police. He visited another store and adopted the same tactics, but Avas forced to leave without any loot. Next he stuck up a horseman, mounted tlie commandeered animal, and rode into the bush. Probationary-constable Brown followed, and after a short struggle captured him, and lodged him m the lock-up.
