PATUTAHI CHURCH FETE.
The weather was fine for the Patutahi Church of England fete, and a large number of people assembled at the Patutahi Domain to witness the sports. A number of stalls were erected in various parts of the grounds, and in them were displayed numerous pretty and useful articles. I The various stalls and competitions j Avere presided over as follows: — Works i stall, Mesdames Rawnsley and Jerram ; j cushion and bag stall, Mrs R. Sherratt; ! dolls and bran tub, Mrs J. Murphy : produce stall, Mrs Sherratt; afternoon i tea. Mesdames Ellis, East, McKenzie, \ and Lynch, assisted by Misses G. Habgood, Eade, and Lyons,; sweet stall. Misses McKenzie (2) and Jerram j horse sports, Messrs Thornly jSherratt and ' Coiiper : chain stepping, Mr Field ; ! sheep guessing,. Mr Cook; Aunt Saiiy, Mr J. Monckton ; gymkhana. Messrs Broadhurst and Steel ; nail driving, Rev. Rawnsley. Colonel Winter officiated as judge in all the sports events. The arrangements for the fete were carried out by Messrs Broadhurst, R. Sherratt, and the Rev. Rawnsley. This evening a dance is to be held in the Patutahi hall, and arrangements are complete tor a very pleasant evening.
