A PAINFUL ACCIDENT.

mr'j. law injured. A "distressingly paihfdi accident befel Mr' l Jack Law, proprietor of the Bridge hotel, this morning. He was using a hose, and in a spirit of fun was going to turn the water on to another person, when a third person playfully knocked Mr Law's elbow. The nozzle flew back, and the point struck Mr Law on the eye, moving the eyeball from the socket. Medical aid was quickly obtained, and the eye replaced in position. The patient was brought in this afternoon to a private hospital, where he will have,:, to be confined to a dark room for at /least a* week. There are hopes that Mr Law will not entirely lose the sight of the injured eye. s mama — — aaawam ___— »
