(Special to Herald.) WELLINGTON, this day. ' The following appointments in the Stamp and Land Transfer Department are announced.

William Waring de Castro to be i)eputy-Commissioner of Stamps, Assistant Registrar of Companies, District Land Registrar, Exarhiner of Titles, and Registrar of Deeds at Invercargill. William Johnston to" be Deputy Com. riiissioner of Stamps, Assistant Registrar of Companies, Assistant Land Registrar and Deputy Registrar of Deeds at Nelson.

John "Andrew Eraser, to be Assistant Registrar of Companies, Assistant Land Registrar, and Deputy Registrar of Deeds at Gisborne.
