A WAIPIRO" FAREWELL.

WAIPIRO BAY, this day. At the .Waipiro school yesterday after-^ noon the residents and children assembled to .bid farewell, 'to the headmaster, Mr' Pole, who- is leaving shortly for Waerehga-a-hika, after : being in charge here for oyer five * years. The Rev. Mr Wilson spoke on behalf of the residents, and presented Mr and Mrs Pole with a silver afternoon tea service. He spoke feelingly, and wished Mr and Mrs Pole every success in their future ,home. Mr E. Wills, probationer, then made a short address on behalf of the children and staff, and presented Mr Pole with a pair of silver-mounted ebony hair brushes. Oh rising to reply, Mr Pole thanked the residents and children for the very handsome presents received. He trusted that the regular attendance and enthusiasm that marked his five years' connection with the school "would be maintained. Mr Pole paid a high tribute to his successor, Mr Ellis, who takes up duty on August Ist. Three cheers for Mr Pole; given by the children,' brought to a- close a very pleasant afternoon.
