PARAPARA IRON DEPOSITS.

*■*- (Per Press Association.) . WELLINGTON, last night. Mr J. H. Witbeford has put before the Hon. Mr Massey the scheme of the Ethelburga Syndicate of London to work the Parapara iron ore deposits. The syndicate proposes to erect works and! Slant costing £650,000, and asks for a irect annual subsidy of £32,500 to sell the State iron and steel at cost plus 5 per cent. The syndicate undertakes to use State coal and coke if suitable, and will hand over to the State the whole plant and machinery free of any charges after 40 years, or under certain conditions after 20 years.
