WAIKOHU SHEEP DOG TRIALS.
The second annual trials of the Waikohu Dog Trial Club Avere com ; menced yesterday morning. Large entries have been received, the total for the three classes being 2ll; By dusk yesterday class I. .was about half-finish-ed. In class L- the dogs had to hunt away through three sets of Hags, a distance of about 400 yards. The prize money for this event is ; Ist prize £7 10s, 2nd £3, 3rd £1 10s, 4th £1. The ground on Avhich'the trial is. being held is on the Te Hau. estate, about a mile from the hotel. Mr Spence has again allowed the use of a fine lot of sheep. Glass 1.,- m which there Avere 73 entries, was finished this morning, Mr Spence coming first with 28 points, G. Hintbn second with 27f points, and R. Mead third with 27£ points. There were" many good runs, and the judge, Mr G. Hawkins, Avas very pleased with the performances put up. ■mm— h— n maaamm
