Mr Harry Koderique, of Stewart Man i, informed the Bluff correspondent of the Dunedin Star that he picked- up several pieces near South Cape. These! include a double cabin bunk made of white Baltic pine, with metal fittings, and also part of a cabin wall with coat-hook, etc. There was nothing to show whence the wreckage came, but it appeared to have been m the water only about three or four months. Mr Itoderique thought that it might have been caught m the Tasmau Sea current, and washed up by the south drift current. He expressed tne opinion that it might be from the foundered s.s. Yongala, but the chances are more m fuvor of its being from the missing barquentiue Mary Isabel. In the absence ot there having been a wreck, there appears to have been a collision, and the washing up of further wreckage will be awaited with interest. According to Sylney shipping files, the Oceanic Steamship Co.'s steamers Sonoina and Ventura are to assume running shortly m the 'Frisco-Sydney service. According to pre sent arrangements the new service will v be inaugurated-by the Sonoma, which is scheduled to leave San Francisco on July 2, to B 6 followed by the Ventura, leaving 'Frisco on July 30. Thereafter a four-weekly service will be maintained for a time, until the 'future policy of the Oceanic Company is definitely formulated. It is therefore not known at present whether the service will be extended to New Zealand, but meanwhile a 30-day trip to London from Sydney, via 'Frisco,' is. announced. The Sonoma and Ventura haye been converte-i from coal to oS-burning steamers, and that important factor should go a long way to eliminate any possibility of delay due to coal strikes or stokehold troubles. As yet only meagre details have come to hand.
