WELLINGTON, last night. Archbishop Redwood announced at/ the Town Hall to;njght that he had received a cablegram from'tjihe Pope, congratulating him on his silver jubilee. WANGANUI, last night. Wanganui '' is well provided with theatres. Ini addition to the Opera House and the Lyceum, a new picture theatre named the King's was opened on Monday night.] The King's theatre will, when extensive additions have been completed, hold 1500 people. White and R. J. King tied for the championship with 19 birds, White winning the shoot-off., Third money was divided among E. R. King, D. A. Fraser, H. Collins, E. Stead, H. Douglas, and L. Bailey. A sweepstake of £1 each was also fired. The first prize was divided between McKenzie. E. F. Stead, E. Porter, D. Fraser, W. Woolven, E. R. King, H. Collins, R. Buick, and J. Harvey, with five birds each.
