DEATH AT TE KARAKA.
Last Saturday evening, between 5 and 6 o'clock, MY Janies Francis Graham, of Puha, an employee of the Waikohu County Council, was found .lying unconscious on the "Cliff road near the tunnel. He was found by Mr G. Bell, and everything possible was done to restore consciousness, but without avail. A doctor was immediately sent for, and the injured man was taken to his home, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 4 p.m. yesterday. Death was said to be due to cerebral hemorrhage. The deceased had been suffering from an attack of influenza for the past two weeks. He leaves a widow and several children. An inquest was conducted this afternoon. - ... The deceased left home on horseback to ride to Te Karaka, and it is surmised that his horse shied, and after unseating its rider, bolted., There were indications of the unfortunate man having been dragged, through his foot being caught m the stirrup.
