TIMBER BOOM BREAKS LOOSE.
DAMAGE IN AUCKLAND HARBOR
(Per Press Association.) V AUCKLAND, last night. The weather in Auckland was stormy all day, and shipping M r as delayed. A timber I boom in Mechanic's Bay broke loose, and, carried by the heavy swell, played havoc among the, small craifc in the bay, a riuinber of" yachts and fishing smacks being- -sunk. -The piles of the Waiteniata Rowing Club's shed were carried away, the structure'- colkipsing, and, six boats . being- smashed to splinters. The club's loss is - about £500.
