Heavy seas were reported at Cape Maria, Russell, Tiritiri and East Cape this morning, considerable at < Tauranga, smooth at Gisborne, moderate atr .Napier., heavy at Cape Palliser and Cape Campbell, moderate at - Timaru, smooth at Bluff, rough at New Plymouth, moderate at' Farewell Spit, considerable at, .Westport and Greymouth. WEATHER FORECAST. The report' issued last night was as follows: "An ex-tropipftl cyclonic disturbance has brought heavy rain 'and easterly gales over" the northern districts. The disturbance is •apparently travelling down the west coast of the ..North Island, with, lowest pressure of about 29 inches near Cape Egmont, and -rain and mist are spreading everywhere* Present indications ate for misty aiid< stoririy weather generally, with heavy rain and rivers flooded in many parts of. the country. High,' northerly; winds', veering by west to. south-west, north-" ward of East Capo nnd Kawhia; > and easterly to southerly strong to gale • elsewhere may be expected.
