TOURISTS SWEPT AWAY BY AVALANCHES. . GENEVA, January 11 Three persons have been killed and many injured by avalanches in the la-si twelve hours. ..;'-. In the Valmeinier, near Ohampery, an avalanche swept away and buried a chalet containing three Swiss clin:b<»rs who were killed. On the Grand St. Bernard, o'n the Italian side, three • Alpinists, in spite of the warnings of the monkte, starteJ on the downward journey, and were overwhelmed by an avalanche and severely injured. They, ■were found by the monks several hours later in a 'hut, and one of them is not expected to recover. The diligence between Liddes ami Orsieres, containing six persons, dashed into an avalanche, which had cut the route previously, and the carriage and horses were overturned^ the occupants being slightly injured. ;
