GREATER BERLIN.
. BERLIN, March 1. Dr Steinger has been elected the first Mayor of Greater Berlin, the third largest municipality in the world. Under the new authority the council controls the transport facilities of the city, and the building regulations. It numbers 100 members. A scheme which the council lias taken in hand is the planting of a permanent forest to girdle the city.
