(Special to the Herald.) WAIRO'A, this day. The Harbor Board lust night decided to call for applications for clerk of works at £300. A. motion to appoint Mr Leslie Reynolds as resident engineer was lost by 5 votes/ to 2. He remains consulting engineer. On the initiative of the Wairoa School Committee, t'he County Council agreed yesterday to grant a £40 scholarship, tenable for two years, for qualified pupils *iii three ridings of the county.
