j (Per Press Association.) ; WELLINGTON, this day. At 4.30 on Thursday morning the shop of Rash and Gooder, jewellers, was burglariously entered, an iron bar on the workshop window being sawn through, and jewellery to the value of £17 was stolen. To-day a man named Bruno Mailer, with several aliases, avos charged with theft, and also with having burglars tools m his possession. He pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Accused was arrested when leaving the premises by a constable, assisted by a nitfJitwatcliman. He avos armed Avith a. billet of wood, with which he tried to hit tho watchman. A fire this morning destroyed two I houses at Kilbirnie. Ohe was owned and occupied by William Millar and was insured for £600 m the London, Lancashire and Globe office, and the furniture for £260 m the State office. The second house was occupied by W. J. Miller, and was insured for £550 m the Queensland office. The furniture was insured for £150 m the Royal office.
