ROWING.
In the • GlobOfne Rowing Club's A grade com.petition "two! i-qices were rowed oft last night; DeLautour, Scott, Fraser " and Reddell beat dimming, Brabant, Bright and Oman. This was a sple'hdid race, and. provided an espitingfinish. The crews raced together* as far as the bridge, 'when deCautour began 'to moVe* forward, eventually winning by three or four feet. The other "A grade race was botween McConville, Gerrard, Gallop and Wyllie, and Gully, Busby, McLean and Lovett. Another "exciting race ensued, McConville just winning by about two* feet.
Two of the "B grade races which . were rowed, on Wednesday were rowed over -again last night, ns there were faults in the oars on the previous occasion. The, crews that had' to draw out.i on Wednesday proved the winners last rtigm. ■* Rutherford beat Jeffreys bv about 'a length", and H. M. Puflett beat Hamilton by a similar margin. *
Further heats in botii grades will bo rowed to-night.
