SEQUEL TO WAEREXGA-A-HIKA CASE.
As a sequel to the Waerenga^hika case, which was .before the: fcj^lrehie Court last mpnth, when the -nccused were discharged, Caroline' Broadhurst (Mr Rees) proceeded .against ..George Brown, Charles Stewart, , and Thomas Habgood (Mr LYT. Burnard) at the Magistrate's Court to-day to 'recover tlie sum of £75 oh the -following statemerlt. df claim-. ''That on the night of the 12th d^y of August last the defendants >• broke and entered the dwelling : nouse of Vi the plaintiff 'at Waerehga-a-hika, and^iU assaulted the plaintiff 'and compelled' her by fear to prepare arid give theni . food, and the plaintiff suffered greatly < ' through fright and shock, wherefore the plaintiff claims tlie sum of £75 as damages."
■Mr Rees said portions of the evidence «iven m the criminal case might 'lie admitted.— Mr Burnard agreed to odhiit .the whole of the evidence. I) it .V.Uces said he could not do that.
