WELLINGTON, this day. . • Sir Joseph Ward, m reply to Mr Mac Donald, said he would look into the matter of subsidising rates collected on native lands. Two years ago it was decided to discontinue this system, and he thought there was a great deal to be said for restoration. He would give an answer m a day or two.
