PATHE PICTURES.
A complete change of programme is billed to be presented at Hia Majesty's Theatre to-night, and every item of the new selection ia said to be of an elevating type. The most prominent depiction is that entitled "The Merry Wives of Windsor," which is a realistic delineation of Shakespeare's play, produced with every detail true to the period. The play has to do with certain flirtations carried on by the immortal Fal staff, the most humorous character m literature, and the picture cannot do otherwise than sustain continued laughter throughout its progress. A completely satisfying drama is contained m "Heart and Eyes," the subject of which is the love affair of a surgeon. It enumerates tlie events that lead up to> the proclamation of love m a beautifully simple manner that has an appealing charm. "A Strike m the Mines'* is a potent drama giving an animated pourtraval of a great industrial upheaval, and the principals merit much praise for the life they have thrown into the piece. Another, drama of note is "Estreliita," telling of the invasion of the French troops into Portugal m 1807, and their varied adventures. A novelty which should be very highly appreciated is "The Police Dog Competition.'* This furnishes a comprehensive idea of the important part dogs now play m the work of tracing criminals and of the high standard of efficiency to which they may be trained. The comics include a large number of films among which are "A Funny Story" and "Travelling Free," besides which there are one or tv?o exquisitely colored scenic studies of historic localities.
