. A New Plymouth chauffeur was up before tiie Court for driving a motor-car at a speed dangerous to the public. One witness for the prosecution said the speed at which the car was driven almost "took his breath away." A friend. with whom he had been conversing was just stepping on to the road when the witness pulled him back, and the car went by like a' flash. The speed was affirmed by several witnesses to have been over thirty-five miles an hour. Defendant, who pleaded guilty, was fined £3 and costs.
