BURIAL OF THE VICTIMS.

I PARIS, October 4. One of the greatest demonstrations of national grief ever witnessed in France was seen in Toulon to-day, when the victims of the Liberte disaster were buried ■ •'-,'■ In the great funeral procession that took place were 24 gun-carriages, on whiqh were borne 168 coffins containing the remains of only those who had been identified. President Fallieres acted as chief mourner, and Avas followed by members of the Cabinet, the Presidents of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies, deputations from all the large cities, and by the foreign naval attaches. The obsequies began with a Requiem Mass in the Church of St. Louis. When the funeral was passing the Municipal Theatre the pressure of the crowd became so great that the formation of the troops lining the square was completely broken, and the procession rudely disturbed, despite the efforts of Ministers to restore order. President Fallieres' carriage Avas separated for some time from the rest of the cortege. At the close of tho services the bodies were transported for burial to the places from which the victims were recruited. The fragments of forty bodies that had not been identified were interred in the Toulon Cerhetery.
