YOUTHS WHO NEED DISCIPLINE.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. About thirty jockeys and stable boys made a demonstration last night against compulsory military training. They marched up Queen street, singing songs, the leader repeatedly cryiug, "Aro we going to be sojers?" the chorus shouting "No," and. giving vent to a series of war cries. They arrived at the Drill Hall, where the Highland Rifles were drilling. The non-combatants formed fours and marched across the hall, but the police, appearing they ftlade no further demonstration, the medical examination proceeding quietly. OAMARU, last night. About 150 Territorials assembled tonight for their first meeting. They gathered m a knot m the street opposite the drill hall, and declined to accept an invitation to "come m." Instead they threw missiles comprising turf and turnips, at the officers, and created a considerable noise. The rowdyism lasted lor some time, but eventually a few entered the Drill Hall and the remainder marched off.
