GISBORNE PETITIONS.
(From our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. A petition has been presented by Mr W. D. S. Mac Donald, on. behalf of Minnie Kathleen Perry/ of' Tokomaru Bay. Petitioner is the occupier of a piece of land held under Native Land Court title as one of seven owners of Mangali'awina No.- 4 block, containing 17 acres. The ; said land,- she contends, was, unknown' to her, .wrongfully included m a direction to\ the Appellate Court to reHear .certain orders. The Native Land Qourt .orders made m 1889 and 1894 are complete, and she avers contain no defects known . to her requiring revision. The said piece of land has been occupied by- petitioner and her family under per rrootjier's' title since 1889. Petitioner asks that the block be exempted from section 10 of the Maori Land Court Adjpßtmej\%Act. v |k. : Mikete Pewhs,"Tahgi and 45 other Natives have, thrbugh Mr Ngata, petitioned Parliament to set aside the award of the . Native -Land- Court m reference to the Anaura block, given m 1873, and also that of March 1(2 last, aud to provide, for, an original hearing into the block. __
