The Whakatane County Council forMarded a demand for £15 19s 3d, being the Council's share of the expenses of administration of the Bay of Plenty Licensing Committee for the year' ended M"arch 31, 1911. The totaf expenses amounted to £100 4s 8d. — Amount to be paid. Tlie Assistant Under-Secretary forwarded a copy of the Order-in-Cou*«ta declaring roads m Te Arai settlemem to be county roads. — Cr Matthews : Poor beggars.— Cr Lysnar: Poor Crs White and Jex-Blake ; they'll get a lively time. Tho residents 'of Tyndall and Huxley road. M-rote drawing attention to the enormous damage done to these roads through the excessive loads of bricks carted over them. — After some- discussion, it was decided, to demand from the Brick Company thejfsum of £100, the cost of damage already done to Huxley road. Regarding Tyndall road, it M-as decided to inform the company of the estimated cost of repairing tho damage, and that unless the amount is paid, by them, the Council would make a by-law prohibiting the traffic. The Public Works Department forwarded a form -on which application for assistance m * the matter of road and bridge 'construction works is to be sent in.— Cr Matthews moved that application bo made for £500 for forming the road up the Matokjtoki Valley road to O'Grady's. - , It was decided to apply for the following Government grants: Ormond Reserve road '£lloo, , Pouawa bridge £700, Hangaroa-Waikarembana road £2,500, Gisborne-Wairoa road £1000, Hangaroa (Steele's) £1000, Arai deviation £500, the Willows road £100, Pouparae settle ment drain £100, Coast, road (north of Pakarae) £2000, flood damages £100, Miuigapoike-Wairoa ,road £2000, Tokonui.Tarewa road £1000, ICopua Hill £1000, Maraetaha bridge £3500, Wigan settlement road £1000, Mangaheia, bridge £2000. ,
