The managing secretary of the Auckland Competition!-; Society has been notified that Messrs Arthur Allison and Co.. London, through their local agents, the English and 'Foreign Piano Agency, intend donating a, grand piano, valued at £140, which will be given to the winner of the solo pianist recital contest at this year's festival; to be held m November. This prize is stated to be the most valuable ever offered In any part of the world for a pianoforte solo, and should prove ample Inducement to bring unmpetitorß not only from all parta of the Dominion, but also from Australia.
