Mr John Burns, president oi the Local Government Board, said the Government would not accept the Bill, as it assumed that unemployment was a simple and Bingle issue and could be met by a single principle. The Government believed the Bill would bo inapplicable to the complex of existing evils of unemployment, and the measure would do the unemployed more harm than good. . MEXICO, February 10. A thief who robbed a cafe of £600 was himself held up at the entrance by three men and robbed of the spoil. By an explosion at the Carhon and Loko Company's works at Trinidad, Colorado, nine men were killed.
