TitE GAME IN WELLINGTON. '•' (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. At cricket yesterday, Victoria College made 198 against Ilutt, Burns contributing 79 (not out). CHRISTCHURCH, last night. * The Canterbury Cricket Association's various grade . competitions . for 1910-11 commenced under the most favorable conditions. At Hagley Park the scoring was heavy and the batting capital. W. Carlton performed the very unusual font of batting throughout the afternoon, and he was still unbeaten at the call of time, with 154 't0 his credit. East put up the flne total of 333, for eight wickets against Went Christchurch, whilst St. Albans made n satisfactory total <>£ 271. At Lancaster Park, Linwo'od got all the best of the game against Sydenhiim. The following tire the results: — St. Albans '(271 m . the first innings) versus Riccarton (46 for no wickets); Lin wood (171 m the first innings) versus Sydenhanv (86 for eight wickets) ; East Christchurch (333 for eight wickets) versus West Christchurch.
