MILLTOWN SOCIAL.
The social held at Milltown last night, m connection with the opening of the Methodist School Hall, was wellattended. Addresses were given by Revs. Lochore and T. Fee and Adjutant Melk- » sham, apologies for non-attendance having been received from Revs. W. Grant, k W. Lamb and L. D. Thomas. The Revs. 1 ?Lochore and Fee engaged m a good deal I of hunv>r during their addresses and the audience was kept m good spirits all through. The latter speaker made some stirring remarks regarding intemperance m Gisborne, and spoke of the need of churches and Christian work m .this town. The programme included a number of musical itoms, which were much appreciated, all the numbers being encored. A duet was rendered by Mrs East and Miss Wilkinson; solo, "The Promise of Life," Miss Gray; solo, "The Flight of Ages," Miss Wilkinson. Several items were rendered by the members of the choir. An excellent supper was provided by tlio ladies.
