She was rescued and revived. • She had not been m the water long, arid jt i« not khbwo how she got there. She suffers from insomnia. The .weather continues very cold, and skating has been indulged m by numerous enthusiasts on an artificial lake m the Domain between 6 and 8 o'clock for' tho lnst four mornings. This morning 15. degrees of frost were recorded. Later. — It has now transpired that Mrs Rooney (not Rowley) is 80 years of age. She stripped off her upper garments and jumped into a creek. \ She admitted to the police that she intended, to commit ,suiclde, as no one cared, for her. She had been contemplating .the act for a Jong time. I
