The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile A gentry Co., Ltd., report on stock sale held on Thursday, 141 h inst :— On account of the very wet weather we hardly expected anyone to ho brave enough to bring any stock to the sale. However, a small yarding oanie forward, and was practically all sold. Then; was n dejnand for wethers . anrj good hoggets, ,nnd several" thousands could huv.e been placod during the day. In tlio fat 'pens also there was an absence, of well-finished sheep, . ; which were, much wanted and would have realised fair prices. Sheep: , We yarded and sold 274, Old ewes m lamb made 7s Id to 7>: 6d, small hoggets 4s, medium lines ,7h. Beef steers made from £6 to £7, according to weight. Light weight cows carrying no guarantee made from £4 7s 6d to £4 17s fjd, I while for one lino of well finished cows we made £5 10s.. Good weauei's made. £2 2s 6(1. There, was also a strong derimnd for all desc.rlptionß of rattle. We shall be glad Io receive entries as early as possible for our next sale, which will be held on 28th in.st.
