Mr Parsons and a. band of helpers were hard at work placing sods of grass and, turf on the top of thd bank, but even these proved ineffectual. The only thing that saved Meanee was .the falling of the waters at the psychological moment. During the night the Tutae* kuri went down, and yesterday m6rnin& though high, it; was noti dangerous. ;
