HAWKE'S BAY PRESBYTERY.
ORDINATION OF REV. E .W .^WALKER.
An "m hunc effectum" meeting of the Hawke's Bay Presbytery was held at Ormond this afternoon for the ordination of Mr E.'JV. Walker, who has been laboring ip the Ormond-Motu parish for the past four years as a home missionary. The Rev. W. Grant, moderator of the -parish, assisted by the Rev. Thos.lTait, of Port Ahuiriri, and Messrs McLeod, Parker, and William Bridge, ruling elders, conducted the ordination service. After the moderator had given a narrative of the steps leading up to the call, and, the prescribed questions had been asked. Mi' Walker was, by solemn prayer, and the laying on of' the hands of the Presbytery, ordained to the office of ,the holy ministry, and inducted into the pastoral charge of the parish. The Rev. Thos. Tait suitably addressed the minister and people upon ; 'their respective duties.
There was. a representative attendance from all parts of the district. v ' The Rev. E. W. Walker and* family leave" by the Monowai to-night for-Tas-mania., on a well-earned 1 holiday i trip.
