The late '.>u' Malcolni Mac'Eacharn, win was 68 years of age, was a partner m tho firm of Mcllwraith, MacEacharn and Co. , merchants. He *was Mayor of Melhoume from 1889 to 1900, and also too !« .an active part m, politics. Being defeated at an clectidii, m which he had tho Labor part to fight against, he took the reverse much to hehft, and decided to return --to the Old Country^ to. settle on his Goathland estate, near Whitby, Yorkshire. Lady MacEacharn' is his second wife, being a daughter of Mr J. Boyd Watson, of Sandhhrst,^Victoria,
