The sea was rough to-day at Cape Maria, Russell (very heavy),. Hokianga Iliads, Tiritiri, and Raglan (liar); it was considerable at Tauranga and heavy at East Cape; it was. also rough ou the West Coast; it was smooth at Gisborne, and moderate from Napier to Timaru, heiiig smooth further south. WEATHER FORECAST. The Government meteorologist forecasted: Easterly, moderate to strong winds, freshening.; expect unsettled and cloudy weather, probably showery; glass fall slowly; sea considerable;tides considerable; tliero are indications for sea increasing after twenty hours.
