Butter is easier owing to large arrivals and prospective heavy supplies,, but there is a. steady demand for the choicest colonial, which is clearing well: Australian salted 112s, unsalted 114s, secondaries 104s to 108s; choicest New Zealand 116s ; Danish 124s to 1265. Stored Australian and New Zealand butter is practically cleared. , Bank of England returns : Gold coin £3,535,000, reserve £25,776,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 25:99 per cent. Bills in circulation £28,965,000, public deposits £5,323,000;. other deposits £40,686,000, Government securities £14,413,000, other securities £23,503,000.
