Webster, the well-known Nelson mer. chant, has been appointed general manager, for Australasia of the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company, with headquarters m Adelaide. Mr Webster was one of the first New Zealanders to join the company, arid his promotion to the highest position m the company's service m Australasia will be a matter of keen satisfaction to his many friends m New Zealand*.'
