MELBA'S BIRTHDAY.
(Per Press Association.) .-.-■ AUCKLAND, last night. Madame Melba was 44 years old today. She celebrated her birthday m receiving numerous friends and acquaintances at the Grand hotel. She also received congratulatory telegrams from all parts of the Dominion, and cables from Australia and London. By post came a number of letters wishing her the customary 4< Many happy returns."
