WAIAPU UNION. I
The meeting of the Management Committee of the Waiapu Rugby Union was held at the hotel, Tolaga Bay, last night, delegates being present from Tolaga, Mangatuna, and Tokomarn Football Clubs. Mr J. P. Murphy, president, occupied' the chair. After the selection "of the .representative team, as follows, the' ordinary business was proceeded with : — Full-back, late; three-quarters Newton, Aorere, and Ryland; five-eighths, Wfttchorn and Erekana ; half, Gerrard ; wing, Culforwards, Kelsall, Gilbert, J. Lincoln, Fletcher, B. Lincoln, Crook, and Ruka; emergency (backs), Gillies and Maho; forwards, J. Oates and Brown. ' ■ The Tokomani Club applied to have the date of their match with Mangatuna altered from the 29th to the 22nd inst.— Refused. Mr H. M. Walker was appointed referee for the representative match. It was decided \o allow the^ Poverty Bay Union £6 from the "gate." The secretary was instructed to write and thank the Hauiti Brass Band for their offer to play during Monday afternoon, which was accepted. A small sub-committee was appointed to arrange for the entertainment of the visitors. The referee m the Tolaga v. Mangatnn» match reported two player^ lor rough play.— The secretary was instructed to write and caution them, and the referee was commended for his action. It was decided that the Union would be able to fall m with the Poverty Bay Union's suggestion to play a return match at Gisbdrne, at a later date. The Tolaga Bay Club applied for permission to play a match with one of the Oisborne clubs, if it could be arranged. —It was decided to grant the request, providing it did not interfere with the Union's fixtures.
