AN EXCITED LODGER,
(Press Assn. — By Telegraph — Copyright.) LONDON, August 29. A sensational incident is l'eported to the police in connection with the Luard murder. Last week a man put up at an hotel at Sevenoaks, and intimated his intention of staying for a fortnight. On Monday last he was unable to pay his bill, but said he expected a remittance. He went out, ostensibly to transact business, .and returned at 4 p.m. in. a very excited state. ( He explained Ins agita* tion settling with the landlord on Tuesday, saying^ that instead of proceeding to the neighboring village on -th« previous day he was compelled to cycln to London. On Wednesday, Chief Lispector Scott f of Scotland Yard, who was staying at fhe same hotel, noticed that the stranger ■was ' greatly agitated. ' The latter paid his bul and left, remarking to the landlord, "This man seems to be a>detectiva watching me." It has been ascertained that Mrs Luard was murdered at 3.15 on Monday afternoon.
