As a precaution a new hose was brought from zUickland the day before the fire. \. A terrible motor launch disaster, resulting in the deaths of four persons, is reported from the little Massachusetts seaside town of Marion. A power- | ful forty -five foot vessel, with six pasj sengers, put out into the bay, and speedily went out a long distance from the coast. When she was far from other boats and means, of assistance the petrol tank exploded, from some unexplained 1 cause, wrecking the launch, and terribly injuring four of the occupants, who, be.ing incapacitated' . from swimming, were drowned. The remaining two" had a terrible experience. Secur- ! in^ floating wreckage, t.hey kept them- i selves afloat, .but were twelve- hours in the water before they were rescued in u. semi-conscious condition.
