TOWED INTO PAPEETE. A xMUTINOUS CREW. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The Chinese war junk Whang Ho, which had been on exhibition on the Pacific coast of America, was despatched from San Francisco for New York via Papeete. On sailing, the captain relinquished! command to the chief officer Grindley. The vessel was practically unballasted The wind and sea took charge of her and carried her far out of her course. She finally arrived off Papeete on March 12, and was towed into port. The crew had been m a mutinous state, and salvage had to be paid for the tow to port. When the Manapouii left, the junk was waiting orders. ♦
