The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report oil the ■, stock sale held ou Thursday, 19th inst. : "There was a fair attendance of buyers, and, notwithstanding the heavy l'ain which fell during the sale, it parsed -off in a satisfactory manner. Sheep t There appeared to be a better all-round demand, especially for wethers. Our entry comprised 2251, of which we sold 1827 at the following quotations : 2-tooth ewes (small) 9s, better lines 12s 10d, cull ewes 4s 2d to 6s, for shaep in.' -low ■ condition 7s to 8s 8d better lines, fat ewes (light weights) 11s, cull lambs (very small) 3s Id to 3s sd, better grown 4s lOd, lambs in fair condition and in wool 9s Id. We also sold, cull rams at from 10s to 15s. There ig still a demand for serviceable lines of breeding ewes. Cattle: . Our yarding comprised 140, ; ; of which we sold 133 at fair times values., Our entry consisted mostly of steers, of which we- sold : 15 montfis at £2 10s/ 18 mont^ £3, , 2 2^. years £4 ss, 3 years £5 7s, yearliners to 15 months £2 7s 6d, calves* 13s '6d' to 19s. We sell again at the Matawhero yards cm Tliursdajr, 26tk' inst., and we also wish to direct attention to the sale of Mr Mclldwvie's valuable Poiiawa property on Saturday, 28th, and to. the unreserved clearing sale of Mr Clark's Te Arai s-tock and plant, the dates of which, it will be noticed, .have been changed, and the siales will now be held as follows: Cattle, Matawhero yards, Monday, 30th inst ; sheep and plant, at Te Arai homestead, Wednesday, Ist April."
