Formal notice was sent yesterday tp the directors of tlie Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company that the Government intends to :. acquire ' the ObmV pany's line under the terms. of the orginal Act. The price to be paid will be determined by arbitration. Negotiations are expected to be coiripleted before the completion of the Main. Trunk line.
